06/06/01- Mr. & Mrs. Barrow
Cindy (wife) and I have only been diving now for four years. My wife
gave me diving lessons for my 50th birthday. She also joined in. Since
we are lovers of the aquatic world SCUBA was a natural progression for
us. Both the diving and the learning process was enjoyable. We just
wanted some way to help spread the joy and satisfaction that diving has
given us to others.
I wanted to be an instructor. Unfortunately my profession requires me
to travel extensively. I knew I wanted to do this and up to last
September, nothing was presented to me by the local dive community to
accommodate my desires.
I surfed the Internet constantly looking. One day I cam across your
site. I contacted the course director, Bernie Fuersich and found that
the type of situation I was in could be accommodated.
I met with Bernie and to make a long story short, both my wife and I
spent the months from September to the following April working with
Bernie and his group of dedicated professionals. His ability to stop and
pick up whenever my schedule would allow for instructions was the only
way I could accomplish this goal.
I can assure anyone who wants that the instructions and education I
received from Bernie Fuersich was first class in every aspect. Bernie
has instilled a new way of presenting the exciting sport of SCUBA
without all the "war stories" usually associated with many
SCUBA open water courses.
I new consider Bernie a friend and a lifelong mentor. He is just
another example of the NAUI way when it comes to quality,
professionalism and safety.

I just wanted to take a moment to express my thanks to you for what I
feel was a most satisfying ITC experience!
It was refreshing to work with you, Ross and Antonio - all of you are
extremely knowledgeable, professional and excellent communicators and
coaches. There were a few times during the course that I felt quite
frustrated with not being able to meet expectations, and on all
occasions you and the others provided just the right mix of challenge,
encouragement, support and information. When deciding where and with
whom to do my ITC, I had several CD's from which to choose. I have been
around the diving community long enough to experience much of the
un-professionalism and crudeness that abounds. There was none of that
here - you are consummate professionals and a credit to our (NAUI)
organization. I will be happy to contact NAUI's Sources magazine and
give a heartfelt "Thumbs Up" to private ITC's with Bernie F!
So I give you my thanks for a most rewarding personal and
professional experience. It is a privilege to have learned "at the
fins of the master!"
